What is Mickel Therapy®?
Mickel Therapy® is a body-based therapeutic method developed by Dr David Mickel to help restore natural energy regulation in people experiencing chronic fatigue, pain, and related “energy disorders.”
Rather than trying to force change through the mind alone, Mickel Therapy works by helping people recognise and respond to the body’s own emotional signals — allowing the body’s natural regulatory systems to return to balance.
For more than 25 years, Dr David Mickel has worked with thousands of people experiencing conditions such as ME/CFS, fibromyalgia, long Covid, chronic anxiety, and persistent exhaustion. Through this work he developed a simple, practical process that helps people reconnect with the body’s natural intelligence.

The Origin of Mickel Therapy®
Mickel Therapy® emerged from Dr David Mickel’s clinical work with people whose symptoms persisted despite conventional medical treatment.
Over time he observed that many chronic fatigue conditions involve a form of energy dysregulation, where the body’s natural emotional signalling system becomes repeatedly overridden.
When important signals such as anger, grief, or lack of fulfilment are suppressed over time, the body can become stuck in a prolonged state of physiological stress. This places continuous load on the hypothalamus — the part of the brain responsible for regulating energy, hormones, and the stress response.
Mickel Therapy was developed as a practical way of helping people recognise these signals and respond to them appropriately, allowing the body to restore natural balance and vitality.
How Mickel Therapy Works
